The Broughton Volunteer Fire Department (Allegheny County Station 270) is proud to serve the community of South Park Township. Located in South Park Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, a mostly residential community, we are approximately 11 miles south of the City of Pittsburgh, PA.

Our History

Chartered in April of 1926 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Broughton Volunteer Fire Department was founded by a group of 13 men. Without the vision and leadership of these exceptional individuals, the Broughton Volunteer Fire Department would not exist. It is these founding members that have laid the foundation in creating what has become one of the most respected fire departments in Allegheny County, PA.

Firefighter
Train and respond to structure, vehicle, and outdoor fires, vehicle, and specialized rescues, and other emergencies or calls for service and assistance.

Junior Membership
The Broughton V.F.D. has a junior membership program to help get teenagers interested in today’s fire service. Junior members may participate in company drills, emergency calls, fundraisers, and much much more! The juniors are our future, in training.

Support Membership If firefighting isn’t your calling but you still want to be apart of our team we are always looking for administrative help also! Most of the work running a Fire department now days are helping with all of the administrative work, like bingos, big events, drills, and etc.
