Chartered in April of 1926 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Broughton Volunteer Fire Department was founded by a group of 13 men. These thirteen exceptional individuals and the offices each initially held include:
Edward Travis, President
William Nugent, Vice President
Jacob Augenstine, Treasurer
John M. O'Rourke, Secretary
William Stilley, Trustee
R. H. Goulding, Trustee
John Reis, Trustee
J.C. Fox, Trustee
William McLey, Trustee
